Annual Awards Banquet
Date: Late February/early March
Description: District function-catered dinner, includes firefighters, staff, life members, honorary members, board members.
Public Safety Fair
Date: 1st Saturday in June
Description: Community event. Public safety organizations (e.g. Santiam Ambulance, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (SAR, K-9, Traffic Team, SWAT), LifeFlight, REACH Air Ambulance, Red Cross, etc.) greet visitors and share information about their organizations. The fire district gives out free hot dogs, chips and drinks and opens its doors to welcome the public to come tour the station. There are safety-related presentations and activities for kids. There is also a Red Cross Blood Drive.
Cowboy Breakfast
Date: Saturday AND Sunday in conjuction w/Santiam Canyon Stampede (late July)
Description: Volunteer Firefighters Association fundraiser/community event. Firefighters and helpers serve pancakes, ham, eggs, orange juice, milk and coffee in the apparatus bays at the main station.
Halloween Open House
Date: October 31st, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Description: Community event. Fire station open to the public for warmth and treats. Cider, cocoa, coffee, candy and reflective trick-or-treat bags given away. Family movie playing. Public has the opportunity to warm up and to check out the apparatus, equipment and firefighters.
Turkey Shoot Bingo
Date: Sunday before Thanksgiving
Description: Volunteer Firefighters Association fundraiser/community event. Participants play BINGO. Turkeys given away as prizes. Raffles for cash.
Christmas Tree Lighting
Date: First Saturday in December
Description: Community event. Santa lights the Sublimity community Christmas tree in the fire district parking lot. Refreshments and cookies at the station. Santa on hand for pictures (bring your own camera).
Candy Cane Breakfast
Date: First Sunday in December
Description: Community event. Santa arrives on a helicopter. Free biscuits & gravy breakfast with donations of non-perishable goods.
